April is Garden Month

The Williamsburg Botanical Garden (WBG) is a gem to visit during Garden Month. The garden has free admission and is located in Freedom Park at 5537 Centerville Rd. It has a variety of areas for visitors to explore including a butterfly garden, an herb garden and native garden. Additionally, WBG has a small pavilion, benches and picnic tables. You can request a guided tour from a Williamsburg/James City County Master Gardner.
Pedal the Parkway Apr.23-25
Friday, April 23rd to Sunday, April 25th at between Rt.199/Kingspoint and Jamestown
The National Park Service and non-profit partner BikeWalk Williamsburg invite the community to celebrate National Park Week by biking, walking or running on a seven-mile portion of the Colonial Parkway for three days, April 23-25. Park staff will close the Colonial Parkway to vehicle access between Highway 199/Kingspoint and Route 359 at Jamestown beginning at 7 a.m. on Friday, April 23 and ending at 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 25.

Dispose of Unwanted Meds

Don't let unwanted, expired or unused prescription drugs end up in the trash. Bring them to the Drug Take Back Day Saturday, April 24 between 10am and 2pm at the James City County Police headquarters near Warhill High School. No over-the-counter drugs, needles, injectibles or illicit drugs will be accepted. For more details, check here.
